A new craze is going around among the web-development scene--Apache/mod_perl. We've recognized this craze and have worked hard to bring to you something similar and possibly even better--PerlEmbed. PerlEmbed brings you the power of mod_perl without the Apache restriction. Although Apache is an excellent webserver, not everybody prefers to use it. With PerlEmbed you can literally embed Perl code WITHIN your HTML files and let perlembed.cgi do all the dirty work! Include ENTIRE PROGRAMS within your HTML code and voila! You can have hundreds of Perl applications all executing within ONE process! It doesn't spawn a single external process (although you can force it to by using the system calls)

To actually use the script you need to edit the perlparser.pl file and edit the specified variables. They are few in number and not hard at all to figure out. After you've done that, put the correct file permissions on the files and then create a link to http://www.yourdomain.com/path/to/perlparser.pl. The script automatically figures out what to do when it is executed. The MAIN HTML file is main.html, which contains the actual programming box. All templates are stored in the subdirectory, /templates. Alter until it fits exactly as you want it to. Then just paste your perl code into the box and hit the submit button to parse and show output.

If you've ever thought about becoming a GeoCacher, then you know that the only way to get GPX files from GeoCaching.com is to pay for their membership services. That means a regular monthly charge to your credit card. But your PocketPC or GPS unit requires this type of file. This isn't a problem anymore. This little script graps waypoints from the GeoCaching.com site and makes a perfect GPX file for you!Simply collect waypoints, and include them in the URL. The browser will download the GPX file to the folder of your choice. You can then open this file using a program like GPX Sonar. Separated multiple waypoints with a pipe symbol (the verticle line).New! Paste in an LOC file, and this program will automatically parse it for you, and grab all of the waypoints from the Geocaching.com site!

This small script will fetch X number of items from an RSS feed, parse it as plain HTML, and print it to a browser. In order to speed things up, the RSS feed is cached to a text file on the server. Video Grabber is an easy to use program to download video files from google, youtube and other sites. You can download using grab and keep flash movies or videos and you can thereafter burn them to CD or DVD for offline viewing from the following twelve Sites: Bolt.ocm, You tube, Google Video, Daily Motion, Myspace, angryalien, ThatvideoSite, ZippyVideoes, Blip.tv, Break, Putfile. Video Grabber has the option of either monitoring Windows clipboard for video links to the sites and once a video link is detected, the video or movie will be automatically downloaded. Or you can simply copy and paste the web page URL (Or link URI) that contains the video from the (12) supported sites to the download page.
